This years long race includes an extremely tough trek. The forecast is for rain, which may get heavy, so that will make it even harder. You will need to be on your game navigationally. There are no shortcuts.
You must be carrying the appropriate gear for this trek and plenty of food. Don’t skimp on gear. Many of you will certainly be going into the night and you will need to be prepared to bivvy down in case things don’t go to plan or you need to stop for a river to go down. Make sure you have sufficient batteries for your headlamps.
We will be carrying out a compulsory gear check on the course prior to the trek and you may experience a long delay if you are missing a critical piece of gear, as well as time penalties.
